Olivier Awards

Donna Ruane and Paula Cox interpreting the song "For Good" from the show 'Wicked' at the 2013 Olivier Awards - Click the image to view the video on our facebook page.

An open air event on Sunday 28 April 2013 at Covent Garden Piazza will have Donna Ruane, Paul Michaels and Paula Cox from Theatresign interpreting the Olivier Awards with live performances from many of the big West End shows, plus a live screen relay of the Awards ceremony from the Royal Opera House. Last year, the interpreting attracted a lot of comment from people that were seeing it for ther first time and on Twitter there were tweets about the "amazing sign lady" and described the interpreters as "real troupers"

Theatresign Director Terry Ruane commented "This is not really surprising - Theatre Interpreting is not just about access - it can actually add a new dimension to a show for people who can hear - and many people commented that they really enjoyed seeing a visual interpretation of the songs even though they do not know sign language themselves"

This year's event starts at 4.15pm and goes on until 9.30pm and is a FREE event open to everybody - just come along and have a great day!
